I don't know about you, but every year my book list seems to grow longer every time I cross off a finished book.
Books are like chocolate for me.
Each one is a delight in its own style, and after finishing one I only ever want more.
Since summer is coming, and since I do have an ever growing list of books to read, I thought I would try something new, and hopefully do something fun, by creating a book list on the sidebar section of my blog, with the Title and Author of the book I am currently reading.
I'm also going to create a book challenge that lists 25 ideas for types of books to read to help me get excited about each new read.
( Not like I'm not already excited, but crossing stuff off is one of those happy things for me. )
And I'm making a blog post out of it to see how many people I can get to join. :)
That Polkadot Girl's Summer Book List:
A New Book
A Classic
A Book that was Made into a Movie
A Book You Pick Solely Because of the Cover
A Book by an Author You Have Never Read Before
A Book with a Color in the Title
A Book Set Somewhere You Have Always Wanted to Visit
A Book of Poems
A Book that will Make You Smarter
A Book Everyone but You has Read
A Book Based on a True Story
A Book that is a Century Old
A Book that Takes Place on a Island
A Book that is Guaranteed to Bring you Joy
A Book that is More than 600 Pages
A Book Translated to English
And that is my list.
I'm hoping to read more than 25 books this summer.
Many, many more.
But this is a start, and I have a feeling it will help me finally get to reading some of those books
that have been on my list for a while.
This is a wonderful idea! Like a book club...sort of.
ReplyDeleteWhen you finish a book in a particular category will you cross it off, and list the title and author? What a great way to keep track :-)
- no cheating with having a book do double-duty (like a blue covered book that is more than 600 pages, for example) because then you will have a beautiful looong list of crossed off books. Very nice!
Yes, I will DEFINITELY come back to the blog and cross it off. X)Then I can keep track of my progress, and see what is the next book.
DeleteAw, shucks. ;)
This is a really fun idea, Hannah!! Can't wait to hear about all the books that fit into these categorize :) I have a couple suggestions for the 600+ pages section ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't mind if I don't join at the moment, I have such a strange way of reading and a crazy busy summer/year that I don't know how this would work into things. Not that I'm not going to be reading. That's an obvious YES. We should definitely keep tabs on each others reading though!
Hahah, I think I am covered for the 600+ category! XD Oh no worries, I was hoping it would interest any new comers to my blog that I might get since I now link up my IG with my blog posts. ;) But, yes, keeping tabs on each others books would be fun! :D
DeleteI just found your blog and I'm so glad I did!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a marvelous challenge: it caught me at the first category. :) I'm most definitely in!
Thank you so much for the follow and comment Eowyn! I'm so happy you like the challenge as well. I'm definitely excited to start reading this summer. :)
