So-Cal Day 1 & 2

Hello World!
Some of you may actually already know about my recent trip to Cali...
( from reading my mom's blog )
But in case you missed my Instagram posts here is a more in-depth itinerary!
Since I took an awful lot of pictures...
Like.....
a ton!
I'll be splitting our visit into two posts.
So I can get away with more pictures in each post, of course!
So I don't overwhelm you with my copious photographs.
 (Packed for the trip!)

Day 1:
(Our flight number...It's right there in the window's reflection.)

I had a rather sleepless night (sort of a normal for me.. )
But I was up by 2:00 and we left bright and early at 4:00 since the airport isn't nearby where we live.
(My travel buddy <3 )
Our flight wasn't until 7:30 so we had some time to kill.
Or Z's to catch...
Mint Tea? Check!
Music by Queen? Check!
(It was a cold and rainy departure.)
    (But ABOVE the clouds...)

(The first thing our gracious host did once we touched down was treat us to tea and coffee.)
In the coffee shop- Mona Lisa on the right and Van Gogh on the left.
Feel free to comment if you know who the guy in the middle is!
I haven't figured it out yet....
But he looks awful familiar!

 (Be still, my heart!)

(It's sort of tradition to get a manicure and pedicure whenever Auntie K and a visit is involved.)

 (Baby Duke and Grandma)

Later we went back to Auntie K's house and chatted up with her daughter-in-law and held the new baby.
(Babe Duke with his super sweet mommy, Stephanie.)

(Peacocks roaming wild in the backyard.)

Day 2:
Day two we went to the beach and we had some tag-a-longs!
(Darsy Claire and my mom.)
 (While driving to the beach...)

GAH!!! IT WAS AMAZING!!!! I WANT TO GO BACK!!!
This little cutie stole my heart last visit and she stole it again this time!
She called the seagulls "Ducks" and would make dashing runs to the surf.
So we held hands and together we chased "Ducks" and caught waves.
(Our Beach Group: Uncle Rich, Emma, Darsy, Momma and Auntie K. (not pictured.))

After the beach Emma and her hubby invited us all over for dinner that night.
(Because yes. I take car pictures when we drive through tunnels.)

(Emma had bistro lights set up on her back deck! <3)
As we left to go back home, the truck we were driving broke down!
Thankfully we were able to drive out of the way and off the freeway before we were complete toast.
There was a fast food joint right across from where the battery-less car stopped.
We stopped in to see if I could grab a cup of peppermint tea...
Lets just say tea was not being served at the bar and we got the silliest looks for asking.
Thankfully we got a tow truck and Emma's hubby came to our rescue in loaning us a car to get home.
We all fell into bed that night happy from the beach and tired from the long night.

xoxo
