It's been so hot, they turned Red!

Hello World!

If you were wondering, yes, I did make a post yesterday morning. If you were wondering what happened to it... I deleted  it. Life is really just too short to complain. Just because one has a bad day is no reason to tell the WHOLE world about it. So ... On a happier note! I went Raspberry picking Saturday!!

I have been praying for God to show ways for me to make money this summer, and I asked a friend if she had any suggestions. She suggested Strawberry picking, but by the time it was becoming a possibility for me to do so, strawberries were not really the high point of the season anymore.

Blueberries were!

So I looked up different blueberry farms -that were fairly close by - that needed pickers. Many E-mails and phone calls commenced. This one was the only one that E-mailed me back in the positive though, saying "YES, we need pickers!" So with water, sunnies, and Zune in hand, my sweet momma and I made our way to the farm.

Hah! That was just the beginning. We got there and it turns out it isn't even a blueberry farm!

They do raspberries!

Thankfully we both know how to pick raspberries. ;) So with water, sunnies, Zune, and fanny-pack raspberry containers in hand, we made our way to the several rows of raspberries.
We picked for 4 hours and each picked 8 half flats.

The Blueberries. It was just so hot, they turned red! :D

The berries were OH SO GOOD too!!!
(Of course I had to taste some! Just to make sure they weren't poisonous. ;D )

I would definitely go pick for pay or pleasure at this farm again. It was fairly easy picking, and except for the part when a bird pooped on me ... ( NOT FUN!) It was really rather enjoyable! The owners are very nice and sweet people, and said that they would keep my name and number in mind if they had another opening for pickers.

Of course there were selfies. :D

Patchy Sanders Love

Hello World!

About 3 months ago, some friends told us about this new band that is still really Indy, and how they are trying to get known. So they ripped us a copy of their CD ( Which was fine with the band. ) And we tried it out. Me. Oh. My. If you haven't heard of this band give 'em a try! This brother and I were turned into complete fans! And this one followed soon after.

And then our friends told us, that a concert was coming up...
And it was only $15.00 for a ticket!

We all ( Caleb, Matthew, and I) eagerly asked our parents, and after getting the A-Ok, awaited the day of the 'concert'. The 'concert' happened to be on a Sunday, so we ate lunch with our friends at their house after church, and then headed to downtown Seattle. We shopped around in different book and coffee stores, and visited the Troll under the Fremont Bridge. ( A cross off of my bucket list!) When it was show time, we made our way to the venue, which was actually a house. I wasn't sure what to really expect -being my first concert and all- but it was truly amazing! There was only about 15-20 people there, including the 6 band members, and out of all of them we were the youngest- and quite possibly- biggest fans. Since it was such a small venue the band asked it's audience to raise their hands and shout out song suggestions. They got many request's from our 'row'.  :)  The show itself went on for at least 2 hours, with us listening to some of their new stuff they haven't recorded onto their CD yet, to the stuff we could sing in our sleep. As soon as it ended, ( sob ) I was so antsy to get a CD of my own and ask them to sign it! Which they quite happily all did!

And then I saw that they had T-shirts ...   Matthew, Me, Tori, and Abby, all bought one and grabbed at the opportunity to get them signed as well! Later, Matthew had the fantastagreat idea that somebody should embroider their signature's onto the shirts, as sharpie will eventually wash off. Abby ended up embroidering her own and my brother's. And I did mine and Tori's.

It was such an amazing day, full of amazing people, music, and many wonderfully, happy memories. My only disappointment; we didn't get any pictures of each other with the band members. We'll just have to go to another of their concert's then. :) But seriously, check these guys out! They are such down to earth people! We enjoyed chatting to them after the concert, and they were even sad when we had to leave. Would I go to another one of their concerts? Yes! Would I buy more CD's? Yes! Would I buy more shirts? Yes! Yes! And Yes! Definitely a day I will always remember!

*Note from Author* One of the things I really like about their shirts too, is that they aren't Unisex! So one can comfortably wear a band's shirt. :)

Yummy Smoothie

Hello World!

I was experimenting in the kitchen the other day, with some slightly random ingredients, and actually came up with this fantastagreat recipe for a chocolate smoothie!

If you are anything like me, chocolate is kind of life.

As such, I have tried to create the 'perfect chocolate smoothie' before, but always ended up with just a large glass of gloop. :/
Not very attractive ... or even remotely yummy.

I have tried the chococado, but for me it is now ruined as I think once I used an avocado and some spinach that was just a little too old. 0-o

As an extra bonus- instead of just telling you about my wonderful creation- here's the tutorial. ;)

Is he not adorable? He couldn't wait for me to be done taking pictures, and actually make the smoothie.

The Ingredients:

Place pieces from 1 banana into blender.

Add 2 Dates- Pitted

Add 1 1/2 C. Milk

Blend.

Add 3 Tbsp. Cocoa Powder

1 Heaping Tbsp. Cashew butter.

Or Almond, if using Almond Milk.

A Dash of Vanilla

And some crushed ice.
Blend well.

And Enjoy!

*Tip from author*
I doubled this recipe, so I got 2 1/2 mason jars full.

Can you tell which is my glass?

( Don't they totes look like sibs? )

20.) Do you like Chinese food over pizza?

Yes! I mean come on, those egg roles!?!?!

21.) Do you drink your soda with a straw?

The only reason why I would is if I get a soda at Jack In The Box, in which case they give you the plastic cups, that come with the plastic lids, that you have to use a straw with. Other wise no.

22.) Chapstick or lip-gloss?
Chapstick.
"Cause my lips hurt really bad!"

45.) Do you use the word "Hello," daily?

I guess it depends on the circumstances. If I am in a situation, where I don't know anyone in a large crowd, I would much rather be home alone in my pajama pants.

47.) Do you like cats?

Not really. They have to be really nice cats for me to like them.

48.) Have you ever been to six flags?
What is that?

49.) Where did you get your worst scar from?

From a piece of wired fence. I was being stupid and playing outside in the rain, wearing only a tank and shorts. And to top it all off, I was walking across a slippery fence post, while wearing flip-flops.
I am sure you can guess what happened next.

52.) Last Bubble Bath?

When I was like 4? Baths are overrated. By the time the bath is filled, you are sitting in cold and dirty water. Ew!

56.) Favorite animal?
HEDGEHOG!!!!!!!!!

AW!!!!

57.) Girlie Girl or Tomboy?

Well, I am definitely not the girlie-girl I used to be. I used to think the reflection of the chandelier on my spoon was a spider, and would cry until somebody "killed" it. But, tomboy really doesn't describe me either, as I love twirly dresses, long hair, and bling too much. ;)

58.) Have you ever lost someone?
Yes ... It hurts ...

59.) Have you ever slept till 1 PM?
No.
Though, when I stayed up all night, I went to bed the next day at like 11:00 AM, and woke up at like 5:00 PM. So I guess you could say that I have slept past 1:00 PM.

On my back.
On my stomach.
On my right side.
On my left side.
Pretty much however I feel like it.

Well, that was fun! Thanks for reading!
*Also, though I posted this today, I wrote it out yesterday. *
