I met Danielle Walker!

Hello World!

A cookbook that I frequented often before going on AIP was Danielle Walker's cookbooks!

Well the book on the far left is her new release.
And she happens to be on tour signing her new book currently!
AND!
MY MOM AND I MET HER AND SHE SIGNED ALL OF OUR COOKBOOKS!

I acted like a stupefied mummy who forgot that she is better off staying in the grave, and then when the camera snapped a picture my smile had so much cheese in it I could have fed a whole mice family. But she was great! She was the epitome of sweet even if we only talked for a minute.

I have a new Vlog up about the experience I'd love for you all to check out!

Cali-Dresses 2/5

Hello World!

Today's dress, and outfit I actually wore to church recently.
I was told it was very Isla Fischer esque in her film The Confessions of a Shopoholic.
It was definitely a bit of an "Out There" style but it's what made it so fun to wear!

My yellow tights are definitely a favorite in my wardrobe and of course being "That Polkadot Girl" these boots are a staple in the wet weather.
Besides stealing wearing my brother's bracelet, wearing my favorite hedgehog necklace sealed the deal for me on this outfit.
To me they will always be a "Fall Animal", instead of a Spring" one.

Sweater: Land's End
Dress: Forever21
Tights: Legale
Boots: Unknown
Necklace: PearlPlus
Earrings: Francesca's

Have you seen The Confessions of a Shopoholic?
If not, it should be added to your list, especially with Black Friday fast approaching!
Also I'm messing around with the pictures and sizing for my blog, comments?
XOXO

Cauliflower "Fried Rice"

Hello World!

Today I'm actually going to talk about a recipe that is not my favorite.
It's not that is tastes bad!
I just think that it isn't my favorite...

Cauliflower "Fried Rice"
1 head cauliflower, cored and roughly chopped
2 Tbsp. Oil
1 yellow onion, finely chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 carrot, finely chopped
1 zucchini, finely chopped
1 C. mushrooms, finely chopped
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. ginger powder
1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 Tbsp. coconut aminos
1Tbsp. chopped chives

Process the cauliflower in a food processor for 10 seconds, or until it just barely forms rice-size granules; set aside. Heat the oil in the bottom of a large skillet or wok on medium-high heat. Add onion and cook for 5 minutes, stirring. Add garlic and cook until fragrant. Add carrot and zucchini and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring. Add cauliflower "rice," mushrooms, salt, ginger, turmeric, and coconut aminos, and cook 5-10 more minutes, stirring, until the veggies are all soft. Serve garnished with chives.

I think, personally, there are too many flavors fighting for attention in this recipe and my preference for eating my cauliflower seasoned would have to be with this recipe that I tried.

If you try the recipe though, I'd love to know you think!
I'm currently in love with Bon Iver's CD "Bon Iver," you are fan?
Also as always, Pink Floyd is amazing. Thoughts?
XOXO

An Afternoon Walk

Hello World!

Since the inheritance of my mom's old camera I have been having too much fun with it!
Thus I went on a walk to our mailbox and back and decided to try my hand at some nature pictures.
That's the update for this Monday, enjoy!

Cali-Dresses 1/5

Hello World!

Remember how I mentioned in this post how I had gotten 5 dresses while on my mini vacation with my mom? Well I thought I'd base my next few fashion posts on how I am "warming up" my summer dresses for the wet Washington weather we are having!

Dress no. 1

The weather has been cold and rainy, but we do have a very toasty warm, wood burning stove indoors. Thus on the days when we won't be going anywhere this light and breezy dress has come in handy. With it being a white I have yet to wear it with tights for fear that they'd show through, so for warmth I have simply added on a plaid and a fun pair of socks and I'm ready for the day.

Dress: Gap
Plaid: ana
Socks: K.Bell
Shoes: Reef
